imageWe have secured some heavy duty rope to enable us to replace some the the damaged pipe around the track with a more long term, lower maintenance solution.

We are looking to arrange a track maintenance day on a Saturday during May to lay the rope and start preparations for the BRCA National in June. We really need support from members to make these days a success.

If you can help, please post what Saturdays in May you can help. We will then look to arrange a day with the most volunteers.

Due to R3 of the BRCA National Series, the maintenance day will not be on Saturday 28th May.

Thanks

imageAfter rain the night before, the weather forecast of dry and sunny all day would create a drying track through qualifying which would provide some great challenges for the drivers. The conditions didn't disappoint with the 4WD taking a strong position through rounds 1 and 2. However, as we got to round 3 the track had really started to dry and the 2WD drivers moved from the medium spike to the Schumacher mini pin, providing a lot more grip and improved lap times. Qualifying finished with Guy Haywood just pipping Andy Blackburn to pole.

The finals got underway at around 2:30pm. First the B final, with Paul Gresty on pole. After a close 20 minutes, with the lead changing on numerous occasions it was Sol who crossed the line first to take the sole bump up position into the A Final.

And so to the A-Final. Lights out was around 3pm and Guy Haywood set off from pole. However, by the end of the first lap was in dead last leaving the door open for Andy to race to the finish line 20 minutes late. Guy recovered well to finish second.

Another great days racing. Results are now online and we hope to see you all again ...

imageA great final round of the 2015-16 winter series and with a great weather forecast over 20 drivers turned up for a days racing.

After a few technical issues, the racing finally got underway around 11:30 wth Ian Oddie, Guy Hayward and Andy Blackburn setting the pace through qualifying.

Two 10 driver finals were scheduled and they got underway at 2:30pm. First the B final which was eventually won by pole sitter Charles Butterworth after being pushed all the way to the line by Oliver Whittleston won came in 2nd just 10 seconds behind.

So over to the A final. Guy Hayward never made it to the grid due to car issues leaving it for Ian and Andy to battle out the win. However, both Ian and Andy had problems, leaving the way open for Les Darby to take a commanding leave and become the eventual winner. The win also ensures Les took the overall 2015-16 Winter Series title!

A more surprising result was Paul Gresty coming home 2nd, which was the main talking point in the pits after the race :)

All results can be found online at http://www.nookraceway.com

Our next clubday is 10th April for round 1 of the Summer Series. Hop...
